I think it was in 2003, when Toyota and Crispa, the Pillars of the Philippine Basketball Association played in a reunion game at the jampacked Araneta Coliseum. Robert Jaworski, Ramon Fernandez, Atoy Co, Philip Cezar and William Adornado lead the staluarts from both teams in that memorable duel.
Fast Forward to 2008, the Legends from both teams reunite once more in a couple of games in California just the past weekend. The first game which was held in Union City on March 8 fell on the day of former Senator Jaworski’s birthday. He even expressed his wish of expaning this kind reunion games among them.
Thousands of PBA fans came in to see the game to see their idols. Also present were younger PBA legends like Alvin Patrimonio, Allan Caidic and Jerry Codinera to add more excitement. In the first game, Toyota beat Crispa, 98-91 and Crispa then beat Toyota in the second meeting, 64-60.
The two teams are also scheduled to meetin Carson City on March 15 and San Diego on March 16. Here’s a clip from the 2003 reunion game
