Record-Breaking Performance for Paul

Anytime a player is mentioned in the same breath as NBA great Oscar Robertson he must be something special. And something special is exactly what Chris Paul gave New Orleans fans last night.

Paul set an NBA record for consecutive games at the start of a season with at least 20 points and 10 assists, breaking the mark set by Oscar Robertson in 1968. CP3 had 21 points and 13 assists for his sixth straight double-double and the New Orleans Hornets snapped a two-game losing streak with a 100-89 victory over the Miami Heat.

Like the humble guy he is, Chris Paul did not take all the credit for his outstanding performance.

“This is a very unusual stat,” Paul said. “Assists only occur when your teammates do what they are supposed to be doing.”
