The big show, the men’s basketball finals, will feature World Champion Spain going up against the Redeem Team. The game starts live at 2:30pm tomorrow.

James and Bryant, making his first Olympic appearance, will lead a U.S. team that hopes to capture the gold medal in Beijing in August after a third-place showing in Athens four years ago. They’ll have plenty of help.

Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony and Jason Kidd were among the 12 players placed on the team Monday. They were joined by Tayshaun Prince, Carlos Boozer, Chris Bosh, Dwight Howard, Chris Paul, Michael Redd and Deron Williams.

The highlight of the Arenas’ Manila visit dubbed “Adidas Agent Zero Tour 2008″ will be his appearance in the Ateneo-La Salle game in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) today, Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. Seattle SuperSonics to move to Oklahoma City

Posted by admin in NBA

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The Seattle SuperSonics will move to Oklahoma City next season after reaching a settlement, the team said on their Web site on Wednesday.

The city of Seattle will be paid $45 million up front and Sonics owner Clay Bennet will pay an additional $30 million in five years if the city is unable to secure another NBA team. The team’s name and colors will remain in Seattle.

The announcement came just hours before a federal judge was to issue a ruling in a lawsuit between the city and the Sonics over the KeyArena lease. The city had sued the Sonics to try to force the team to continue playing in Seattle through the end of the lease in 2010.

NBA

The LA Lakers didn’t want to give the Utah Jazz another chance when they beat the former yesterday, 108-105 in front of the almost 20 thousand fans in Salt Lake City. It was a close end-game when the Jazz outscored the Lakers 35-22 in the last quarter. Kobe Bryant’s 34 points proving why he’s named the regular season MVP.

Over at the Eastern conference semis, the Cleveland Cavaliers forced a game 7 against Boston Celtics. 74-69 was the score at the final buzzer. Lebron James lead the Cavs scoring 19 of his 32 points in the second half .

PBA

Talk N’ Text took the second solo lead after beating Sta. Lucia in Cagayan de Oro. Final score was 90-80. Mac Cardona scoring like an import had 31 points.

Today, Ginebra’s luck will again be tested when they play the Welcoat Dragons. Have the GinKings finally figured out what’s wrong with the team’s system? I’m just not sure if The Fearless Ronald Tubid will be suiting up tonight.

PBL

It’s Harbour Centre vs Hapee in the PBL finals. The Complete Protectors ousted Burger King, 77-72 to wrap up their semifinal series at the Gov. Ayong Maliksi gym in Cavite. Norwood unloaded 17 points after displaying a below par performance during their last game. The Metro Manila crowd will miss Game 1 of the PBL finals on Wednesday as the league returns to Batangas.

LA Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant finally got the trophy he has yet to receive in his NBA career. A brief ceremony was held at the Staples Center before the Game 2 of the Jazz vs Lakers series.

The 29-year-old Bryant was a runaway winner of his first MVP award, receiving 82 first-place votes and 1,100 points to far outdistance New Orleans’ Chris Paul in the voting of 126 media members. The results were announced Tuesday.
